Why major pairs return less per lot than gold
On Standard, Standard Cent and Pro, the partner commission is a share of the spread. Major currency pairs usually have a much smaller spread in dollars per lot than gold. A smaller spread per lot means a smaller partner commission, so the cashback per lot is smaller too.
For comparison, XAUUSD returns up to $15.5 per lot on Standard, while EURUSD returns up to $4.77. That does not make forex a worse deal. A lower cashback per lot usually goes with a lower trading cost per lot. Gold figures are on Exness gold cashback.
What moves your forex cashback
- Spread at execution — on Standard, Standard Cent and Pro, the cashback is a share of the spread. At typical spreads, the amount per lot is lower than the maximum shown on this page.
- News and market hours — spreads can widen around major economic releases and when liquidity is thin. The cashback per lot rises with the spread, but so does your trading cost.
- The pair — Exness sets a different partner commission for each instrument, so EURUSD, GBPUSD and USDJPY return different amounts.
- Account type — on Raw Spread and Zero the amount is fixed per lot, per side, whatever the spread.
- Partner rates — Exness sets the partner commission and may change it. We update our published rates when it does.
- Rounding and account currency — the amount credited can differ slightly from your own calculation.
