Exness Lot Size Explained: 1 Lot, 0.01 Lot, Cent Lots and Cashback per Lot

Short answer: on Exness, 1 lot is a fixed contract size that depends on the instrument — 100,000 units of the base currency for EURUSD and 100 troy ounces for XAUUSD, as published by Exness on 10 October 2026 — and the smallest order on most instruments is 0.01 lot. Cashback grows in a straight line with lot size: 1 lot of XAUUSD on a Standard account returns up to $15.5, so 0.1 lot returns up to one tenth of that and 0.01 lot up to one hundredth.

What is a lot on Exness?

A lot is the unit you use to set the size of a trade. When you open an order in MetaTrader or the Exness Terminal, you do not type an amount of money; you type a volume in lots. The platform turns that volume into a position size using the contract size of the instrument.

Traders often use three names for common sizes. They are general trading terms, not Exness account names:

The lot size you choose decides how much each price move is worth to you. It also decides how much margin the trade uses and, for this site, how much cashback the trade can generate. A bigger lot means a bigger gain or a bigger loss for the same price move.

How big is 1 lot? Contract size by instrument

Each instrument has its own contract size. The table shows 1 lot and 0.01 lot for the instruments traders ask about most.

Check the current value in your Exness Personal Area or the Exness Help Centre before relying on it.

The same lot size can mean very different positions on different instruments. 0.01 lot of EURUSD is a 1,000 EUR position; 0.01 lot of XAUUSD is one ounce of gold. Always look at the instrument, not only the number of lots.

What is the minimum lot size on Exness?

The smallest order on most Exness instruments is 0.01 lot, as published by Exness on 10 October 2026. Some instruments have a different minimum; for example, Exness lists a larger minimum for some cent crypto symbols. The platform shows the minimum and the volume step for each symbol in its contract specification.

Check the current value in your Exness Personal Area or the Exness Help Centre before relying on it. To see the specification in MetaTrader, open the symbol's properties from the Market Watch list.

Our cashback has no minimum volume. It counts from 0.01 lot, and there is no cap. Very small trades produce very small amounts, and the credited figure can differ slightly from your own calculation because of rounding.

How much is a pip or a price move worth per lot?

Multiply the contract size by the price move. The table uses the contract sizes above and assumes a USD account. These are our worked examples from the published contract sizes, not separate Exness figures.

Price move1 lot0.1 lot0.01 lot
EURUSD moves 1 pip (0.0001)10 USD1 USD0.10 USD
XAUUSD moves 1 USD100 USD10 USD1 USD
USOIL moves 0.01 USD10 USD1 USD0.10 USD
BTCUSD moves 1 USD1 USD0.10 USD0.01 USD
value of a price move = contract size × lots × price move

For EURUSD: 100,000 × 1 lot × 0.0001 = 10 USD per pip. For gold: 100 oz × 0.01 lot × 1 USD = 1 USD. For pairs where USD is not the second currency, such as USDJPY, the pip value is first worked out in the second currency and then converted, so it changes with the exchange rate.

These figures work in both directions. A 1 USD move in gold against your 1-lot position is a 100 USD loss. This is why lot size is the main tool for managing risk, more than the instrument or the account type. Read risk reward ratio and breakeven win rate to see how position size, stop distance and costs fit together.

Cent lots: how they compare with standard lots

On the Standard Cent account, volume is entered in cent lots. One cent lot is 0.01 standard lot, so 100 cent lots equal 1 standard lot. The balance is shown in US cents (USC), and cent symbols end in "c", such as EURUSDc or XAUUSDc, as published by Exness on 10 October 2026.

Cent lots (Standard Cent)Same volume in standard lotsXAUUSD position
10.011 oz
100.110 oz
1001100 oz
cent lots ÷ 100 = standard lots

Cent lots are useful when you want very small positions with a small balance. They do not change the cashback for the same volume: 1 cent lot and 0.01 lot on Standard are the same volume. A beginner's guide to the cent account is in Exness cent account explained.

How does cashback scale with lot size?

Cashback is paid per lot, so it scales in a straight line with your volume. We return 90% of the partner commission Exness pays on your trades. On Standard, Standard Cent and Pro, that partner commission is a share of the spread — up to 36% of Exness's spread revenue on Standard and Standard Cent, and up to 22.5% on Pro. On Raw Spread and Zero it is a fixed amount per lot, per side, set by Exness for each instrument.

lots traded × cashback per lot = cashback for that volume
Lot sizeXAUUSD Standard (up to)EURUSD Standard (up to)
1 lot$15.5$4.77
0.1 lot (10 cent lots)$1.55$0.477
0.01 lot (1 cent lot)$0.155$0.0477

How we calculate: per-lot figure × lot size. For example, $15.5 × 0.1 lot = $1.55. Maximum figures: 90% of the partner commission at the top Exness partner tier; on Standard, Standard Cent and Pro the amount moves with the spread at execution. Exness sets the partner commission and may change it.

The per-lot figure depends on the account type. For the same 1 lot of XAUUSD, the maximum is up to $5.93 on Pro and up to $2.70 per lot, per side on Raw Spread and Zero. For EURUSD it is up to $1.94 on Pro and up to $0.783 per lot, per side on Raw Spread and Zero. The same lot-size arithmetic applies to each. Why the figures differ by account: Exness Pro vs Raw Spread vs Zero cashback.

Worked example: 22 trading days

Here is the same arithmetic over a month, for a trader who trades the same volume every trading day.

Daily volumeXAUUSD StandardEURUSD StandardXAUUSD Raw Spread / Zero
0.1 lot a day$34$10$6
1 lot a day$341$105$59

Up to, per month. How we calculate: cashback per lot × lots per day × 22 trading days, at the maximum per-lot figures above, rounded to whole dollars. For example, $15.5 × 0.1 lot × 22 days = $34. Raw Spread and Zero figures are per side. Examples are illustrative. Try your own volume in the Exness cashback calculator; for a cent account, enter cent lots ÷ 100.

Should you trade bigger lots to get more cashback?

No. Cashback grows with volume, but so does your risk. On 1 lot of gold, a 1 USD move against you is a 100 USD loss, while the maximum cashback for that lot is up to $15.5. Raising your lot size or trading more often only to earn cashback can cost far more than the cashback returns.

Getting cashback at any lot size

The service is free, with no minimum volume and no cap, on every account type including Standard Cent.

Keep in mind: Cashback lowers your trading costs; it does not make trading profitable. Trading Forex and CFDs carries a high risk of loss, and a larger lot size increases that risk.

Frequently asked questions

How much is 1 lot on Exness?

It depends on the instrument. As published by Exness, 1 lot of EURUSD is 100,000 EUR, 1 lot of XAUUSD is 100 troy ounces, 1 lot of BTCUSD is 1 BTC and 1 lot of USOIL is 1,000 barrels. Check the contract specification of each symbol before you trade.

What is the minimum lot size on Exness?

0.01 lot on most instruments. A few symbols have a different minimum, which the platform shows in the symbol's contract specification. Our cashback also counts from 0.01 lot, with no minimum volume.

How much is 0.01 lot of gold on Exness?

0.01 lot of XAUUSD is one troy ounce of gold. A 1 USD move in the gold price changes the value of that position by about 1 USD. On a Standard account, it returns up to one hundredth of the per-lot cashback of $15.5.

How much cashback do I get for 0.01 lot?

One hundredth of the per-lot figure for your instrument and account type. For XAUUSD on Standard that is up to $0.155 (0.01 × $15.5); for EURUSD it is up to $0.0477.

Is a cent lot the same as 0.01 lot?

Yes, in volume. One cent lot on the Standard Cent account equals 0.01 standard lot, so 100 cent lots equal 1 lot. Both return the same cashback for the same volume.

Every lot counts, from 0.01.
